Who can apply
This scheme is for the parents of Singapore Citizens. The citizen child acts as sponsor. Parents of Singapore PRs are not covered by this scheme, although they may qualify for a Long-Term Visit Pass.
ICA will look at the sponsor’s ability to support their parents financially and to provide a home, as well as the family’s ties to Singapore.
What the sponsor should prepare
- Proof of Singapore citizenship and relationship (birth certificates)
- Income documents and tax assessments
- Housing details showing where the parents will live
- An explanation of how the parents will be cared for, including healthcare
If PR is not granted
Many families start with a Long-Term Visit Pass for parents, which allows extended stays, and apply for PR later. We can plan both routes together so your parents are never left without a valid pass.
